Comments: Knowlton had a studio in Boston from 1867. She worked closely with William Morris Hunt and began teaching in his classes about 1871. Her writings on art included: Talks on Art by W.M. Hunt (1879); Hints for Pupils in Drawing and Painting (1879); and The Art Life of William Morris Hunt (1899). She also excelled at charcoal sketches.
