Comments: He is said to left Germany in the late 1860s, settling as a farmer. In 1878 he auctioned his farming equipment and became a full time artist and salesman of his art. His highly detailed drawings and watercolors of local homes and businesses were bought privately, as well as for commercial and advertising use. He also photographed his work and sold copies to subscribers. Preferred media: india ink, watercolor.
