Comments: Stipple engraver of portraits of Edward Jenner, M.D. (1817) and Bishop Francis Asbury, both published in America. Whether the works were engraved in America and whether the engraver was American are problematic issues. Stauffer expressed uncertainty as to the portraits being engraved in America. Groce & Wallace believed that the engravings were probably the work of Robert Mitchell Meadows (d. before 1812), an English stipple engraver who was active during the late 18th- and early 19th-century and is not known to have worked in America.
