Comments: An A.Ibbetson was working in Philadelphia as early as 1849-50 (Peters). H.J. Ibbotson, merchant, appears in Philadelphia directories for 1846-48, and Hervey J. Ibbotson, lithographer, in the 1850 directory. Harvey Ibbetson, engraver, age 32, was at Boston in 1850 (Census). Arvah J. Ibbotson or Ibbetson was in Philadelphia directories from 1855 to 1862. It seems likely that all these listings represent the same man.
