Comments: Was in the marble business with his brother, Francis Kain (see entry) from c. 1822. They cut the NYC milestones of 1822-23 and erected the grave monuments of John Paulding, one of AndrÈ's captors, and of Thomas Addis Emmet (1764-1827). In 1829 he opened a branch in New Orleans and he was there again in 1832. Specialized in milestones and grave monuments.
