Comments: Associated with William Charles in Philadelphia about 1813. Cf. James Kennedy, engraver working in Phila. after 1812. There was also a Samuel Kennedy in Phila. from c.1813-25, listed variously as looking glass maker, carver, and gilder; in 1819 his store was listed as the place where exhibitions of the Soc. of Artists were held. Samuel Kennedy and Samuel H. West were also print publishers for the Society that year, but there is no direct evidence that Samuel Kennedy was an engraver.
