1951:Her friend Berenice Abbott persuades Model to start teaching photography at the New School for Social Research in New York. She teaches there and at many workshops for the remainder of her life.
1942:Look publishes her photographs of an open air patriotic rally in downtown New York under the title “Their Boys are Fighting”.
1938:With her husband, comes to New York for a short visit that lasted a lifetime.
1937:Marries the Russian Jewish painter, Evsa Model.
1935:This series in Nice is published in the communist periodical Regards, a publication led by Ehrenburg, Gide, Gorky and Malraux.
1934:Visiting her mother in Nice in l934 Model takes her camera out on the Promenade des Anglais and makes a series of portraits which to this day are among her most widely reproduced and widely exhibited images.
1933:Gives up music and starts to study art, and soon takes up a camera.
1926:To study voice with Marya Freund, the Polish soprano she leaves Vienna for Paris. Her mother and Olga moved to France as well, but to Nice.
1924:Her father, who was subject to depressions, died of cancer, long after much of the family fortune had been diminished in the first world war.
1920:Brought up to be a musician, she studies with Schonberg.
