Comments: She began as a barefoot dancer in the tradition of Isadora Duncan and appeared in vaudeville shows until the outbreak of WWI, when she became a nurse and was sent to France. There she met her husband Marius Rocle (see entry), whom she married in 1918. By 1921 they had moved to California and she seriously turned to art in the mid-1920s.
