Comments: An enigmatic painter-etcher whose NYC studio was in same building with S. Colman and J. & G. Smillie during the 1880s. For several years he was an art critic for the New York Herald, and for about three years he was asst. editor of American Art News. At one time he was also librarian for Knoedler & Co. He etched landscapes, but exhibited floral still life paintings most frequently at the NAD.
