Comments: Pictorialist photographer. Arrived in the United States from Japan in 1896, opening a photography studio in San Francisco around 1912. Worked in Seattle in the studios of Edward Curtis and Ella McBride throughout the 1920s, and freelanced. He photographed dancers and artists from the Cornish School of the Arts in Seattle in the 1920s and developed photographic printing paper "Textura Tissue." Moved to Twin Falls Idaho, was interned during WWII, and returned to Seattle after the war.
