Comments: After coming to America, he assisted his uncle, Sir William Johnson, as secretary and deputy agent for Indian affairs during the French and Indian War. He drew a view of Fort Johnson (NY) which was later engraved and published in London as A North View of Fort Johnson drawn on the spot by Mr. Guy Johnson, in Oct. 1759." He later married Sir William's daughter and settled near Amsterdam (NY), where he became Superintendent of the Northern Department in 1774. A loyalist, he returned to England after the Revolution.
