Comments: Worth sold his first comic sketch to Nathaniel Currier (see entry) in 1855 and later became one of the most popular of the artists whose work was lithographed by Currier & Ives (see entry). Though best known for his comics, he also did many racing scenes. His home for many years was at Islip, Long Island, but in his later years he lived on Staten Island.
