Comments: Worked with his friend William Bradford in Fairhaven and NYC. Began a painting career in Boston, which financed a trip to Europe to further his studies (1880, 1883). His trips abroad are reflected in the subject matter of his work of that time. By 1900 he began etching. He divided his later years between Boston and Fairhaven (in Wm. Bradford"s old studio).
