Comments: A leader of the Cragsmoor Art Colony in upstate New York, he and his wife edited the art student publication Palette and Brush for several years. Curran won many prizes for figure painting, and was a prolific and popular painter all his life. In 1936, at age 75, he was honored with a large portfolio of original drawings and watercolors by his fellow members of the National Academy where he taught for many years.
