Comments: An enigmatic commercial photographer who worked in New Orleans from c.1895-1940, he is remembered for his compelling series of 89 photographs of prostitutes in that city"s Storyville district taken in 1912. In the 1970s, his glass plate negatives were discovered and printed by photographer Lee Friedlander. No vintage prints are known.
