Comments: McDougall formed a partnership with portraitist George Gates Ross in Newark, offering patrons a chance to purchase a large oil and small watercolor portrait at the same time. McDougall visited New Orleans in winters of 1839 and 1840 and also worked in Charleston, SC and Saratoga Springs, NY. Also appears as McDougal.
