Werksbeschreibung

Additional Information: This bronze is signed and dated by the artist "Csaki 65" in the base.
It is also stamp numbered from the edition of 3 on the base.
The bronze bears the stamp of Fonderie Valsuani, Paris, where it was cast.
The original Greek name of the muse, Eὐτέρπη stamped in the front of the base.

Note:
Csaky prepared nine maquettes representing the Greek muses that were to be used to create statues adorning a new building in Budapest, regretfully the project was never completed, but the artist created these nine beautiful maquettes each with their Greek name and the traditional symbol of association. In the case of Euterpe, the muse of lyric poetry, she is depicted with a flute. According to Hesiod, each of the muses – all children of Zeus, were each tasked with protecting a particular art.

Provenance: The Art collection of Ben Gurion University, Beer-Sheva, Israel.

Condition: Excellent condition.
