In fact he took more care than usual over this show, spending a lot of time altering, varnishing, signing and occasionnally dating paintings not always accurately. The exhibition entitled “Duncan Grant & His world” opened in early November, partly in celebration of Duncan’s eightieth birthday the following January. There were ninety-one of his pictures on show..." “The selection paid scant tribute to Duncan's pre-1910 work but gave the impression overall, of a more complete representation than the Tate Gallery retrospective of 1959…".
