Guan Jian, born in Xingcheng, Liaoning in 1957, completed his education at Liaoning Art Preschool Normal School in 1981. His artworks were showcased at notable exhibitions, such as the 1991 Art Exhibition commemorating the 70th anniversary of the founding of the CPC in Liaoning Province at the Shenyang Liaoning Art Museum. Additionally, his works were featured at the 1997 China's second Still Life Oil Painting Exhibition held at the Beijing China Art Museum, where he received recognition with the Excellence Award for the Liaoning Province Art Exhibition celebrating the return of Hong Kong in the same year.
