“IL TAGLIO” is one of the ten paintings from the “FURIA” exhibition, which was proposed in Rome in 2019 at the “AVHG”, thanks to which Grazia Maria Regalino aheads her production further into a metaphysical dimension. The outline vanishes, colours are spread by hand or even poured on the painting, creating a colorful and frightening mask full of unexpectedly passion. The horizontal cut inflicted on the mouth from one edge to the other, which suddenly prevents communication and any form of expression, represents the moment of a metamorphosis which is caused by painful life events, which allow us to approach a new point of view towards others and ourselves.
The artist gives life to her works thanks to peculiar and different approaches: she either paints in the dark of the night, or on a hill during the day. She wants the viewer to embrace an intense and intimate reflection revealing everyone’s deepest mind trying to either find an answer or just a comfort within the color stains.
