Edwin Dickman, 1929/Chicago -  2023/Berlin.

Dickman's early lithographs were printed between 1959 and 1969 in the workshop of the HDK/UDK Berlin_Grunewaldstrasse, where he was Master Student of Prof. Fritsch: In a time when any attempt of representational, figurative art was frowned upon and despised, which didn't deter Dickman, as he had just been escaping the 'modern' NewYorker art scene deliberately, leaving abstract expression behind him - it bored him; instead he wanted to learn the 'craft' from the ground up in the tradition of Europe, where the Old Masters were at home and be inspired by the greats.
